Does God "have" a spirit, like we have a spirit in our bodies?
In Genesis 1:2, it would seem that God has a separate Spirit from Himself.
“Now the earth was formless and empty. Darkness was on the surface of the deep
and the Spirit "of " God was hovering over the surface of the waters.”
"God IS Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:24 NASB
Since God is a Spirit, it is possible that the Spirit "of " God, is actually God the Spirit.

Nehemiah 9:6 “You are the LORD, You alone. You have made heaven...
12. By a pillar of cloud You led them in the day, and by a pillar of fire in the night to light for them the way in which they should go. 13. You came down on Mount Sinai and spoke with them...
Nehemiah did not say that the Holy Spirit made heaven or led them in the wilderness. Or that the Holy Spirit came down to Mount Sinai. You, the LORD, (capital letters denote the name of God).
Elohim made the heavens and the earth with His Word(s)/Logos. And God said...
Later we learn how Paul says that, (WAIT), Side Note. Can Scholars make a mistake? Well, they just did previously in Genesis 1:2. Holy Scripture is breathed out by God but the interpretation of the translation varies.
Acts 4:24 When the believers heard this, they lifted up their voices to God with one accord. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “You made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them. 25. You spoke by the "Holy Spirit" through the mouth of Your servant, our "father" David: (NIV, ESV, NASB, Berean Study Bible...)

Did the scholars not want to admit that God is our Father? Clearly the words Father and Spirit Holy are before David. So, why is David our father? Strong's Numbers also show that the words "of the" is actually, "servant". the One/who "of the" father of us... who servant father of us... rather, who the father's servant... The word translated as "servant", is actually "child". (Click on the No. 3588 and 3816 on the link provided.

The Holy Spirit, God's Son "as" a Spirit, was God's helper as well as our Helper or Advocate. John 14:26
The Spirit "of " God could not be a separate entity or deity "before" God said, "Let there be Light". If so, The Word or Jesus could not be the Firstborn of all creation. Colossians 1:15
Therefore, "God the Spirit" was hovering over the mist of the dark void and said, "LIGHT BECOME!" and His WORD became a separate entity/Deity/Spirit, the Lord is the Spirit. 2nd Corinthians 3:17
