All Scripture is not Holy
The Greek word for Scripture is "graphe". It means a writing. The first scripture/writing printed for wide distribution to the masses was the Diamond Sutra, a Buddhist scripture, and is the earliest recorded example of a dated printed text, bearing the Chinese calendar date for 11 May 868 CE. wikipedia org/wiki/Religious_text All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16 KJB Maybe The King James Bible Scholars were on to something. All "writings" are inspired by God. The KJB does not state that Scriptures are God Breathed. (Today is April 19, 2019) I have learned that God Breathed Scripture is Breathed In. Greek/English Interlinear Bible http://biblehub.com/interlinear/2_timothy/3-16.htm So when many churches say that the Bible was Inspired, they are right, The Bible is Inspired but if All Scriptures are considered "Writings", we need to distinguish between Scripture and Holy Scripture. So, what exactly are Holy Scriptures? The English Standard Bible states that "All Scripture is 'breathed out' by God". I agree. So then, faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 King James Bible In order for us to hear scripture, it must be breathed out first. God created with His Spoken Word. God spoke to Moses and Moses wrote it down. In fact, God wrote it down first. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Come up to Me on the mountain and stay here, so that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction.” Exodus 24:12 When the LORD had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, He gave Moses the two tablets of the Testimony, tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God. Exodus 31:18, Deuteronomy 9:10 But when Moses saw the golden calf he broke them... Revelation is Breathed In because we did not read it or hear it. As we read or listen God may breath out on us and we breath in and receive revelation but Holy Scripture is the spoken Word of God that has been written down. ...Moses wrote down all the words of the LORD. Exodus 24:4 Jesus tells us in Luke 24:27 - And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. ESV Then He said to them, “These are My words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, Luke 24:44,45 I would add that everything Jesus said is Holy Scripture because Jesus is the Word from God. John 1:1 We should know that the "Gospel" rather, The Book of Luke is not Holy Scripture because he tells us in the very first paragraph of the first chapter. Inasmuch as many have undertaken to compile a narrative of the things that have been accomplished among us, just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word have delivered them to us, it seemed good to me also, having followed all things closely for some time past, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, that you may have certainty concerning the things you have been taught. Luke 1:1-4 Is everything that Paul says Holy Scripture? I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, so that no one may say that you were baptized in my name. (I did baptize also the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, "I do not know" whether I baptized anyone else.) 1st Corinthians 1:14-16 Does that sound like words from God? I don't think so. Paul himself clarifies that what he is about to say here is not from God but good advice. Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that has obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful. 1st Corinthians 7:25 Is the Bible complete or are there missing books? Why is the Book of Enoch not in the Bible? Enoch was a Prophet who walked with God. Genesis 5:24 This Enoch is from the lineage of Seth, not Cain. Genesis 4 & 5 Jesus said that the writings of the Prophets are Scripture (Luke 24:27, 44,45) Jude called Enoch a Prophet. (Jude 1:14) Enoch pleased God. (Hebrews 11:5) Therefore, "The Book of Enoch" is Holy Scripture and the "Bible" is not complete. P.S. The Old Testament is not entirely Holy Scripture. ie: The two books named Chronicles and Kings. chron·i·cle kränək(ə)l/ noun 1. a factual written account of important or historical events in the order of their occurrence. synonyms: record, written account, history, annals, archive(s); verb 1. record (a related series of events) in a factual and detailed way. "his work chronicles 20th-century displacement and migration" synonyms: record, put on record, write down, set down, document, register, report "the events that followed have been chronicled" ... We also are "men, of like nature with you", and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them. Acts 14:15 Even though the Psalms are Holy Scripture, the mere mortal gets in the way. Psalm 45:1-10 My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for "the king"; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer. You are the most excellent of "men" and your lips have been anointed with grace, since God has blessed you forever. Gird your sword on "your side", you mighty one; clothe yourself with splendor and majesty. In your majesty ride forth victoriously in the cause of truth, humility and justice; let your right hand achieve awesome deeds. Let your "sharp arrows pierce the hearts" of the king’s enemies; let the nations fall beneath your feet. (Here we see the man with a sword on his side and arrows to pierce hearts. Christ has a sword yet, it is in His mouth to pierce hearts) Revelation 1:16 “Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” (Now, back to the man, King Saul) All your robes are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from palaces adorned with ivory the music of the strings makes you glad. Daughters of kings are among your honored women; at your right hand is the royal bride in gold of Ophir. Psalm 45:1-10 I have to give credit back to Paul though, he did quote from this Scripture that which is Holy in Hebrews 1:8 where Paul clarifies that David was talking about Jesus. But about "the Son" He says, “Your throne, "O God", will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” Hebrews 1:8,9 And let two or three prophets speak, and let the others discern. Hebrews 1:5,6
For to which of the "angels" did God ever say: “You are My Son; today I have become Your Father”? Revelation 22:16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, 'The 'Bright' 'Morning' Star'.” Or again: “I will be His Father, and He will be My Son”? And again, when God brings His firstborn "into" the world, He says: “Let all God’s angels worship Him.” (Because Jesus is an Angel, a Spirit) John 1:1 In the Beginning was The Word. The Word "was" Elohim and the Word was "with" Elohim. (How can The Word be God and with God? Was He a twin? No.) Genesis 1:1 In the Beginning, Elohim said, Light Become! And His Words became The Bright Morning Star. I am an Elohimist) |
